CATARINA, Texas-- A three-vehicle accident has occurred on US 83 North south of Catarina between SH 44 and FM 133 south of the Webb/Dimmit County line. Two fatalities have been reported. Northbound US 83 traffic detoured to SH 44 East to I-35. Southbound US 83 traffic detoured to FM 133 East to I-35. Road will be closed for a few hours. 

UPDATE (12:27 P.M.) - The Texas Department of Public Safety say they have identified the victims as David Allen Hall, 29, of Corpus Christ, and Juan Jose Martinez, 48, of Brownsville. 

UPDATE (2:52 P.M.) - US 83 northbound lane is now open, however, US 83 southbound lane remains closed for approximately one more hour. Will advise once US 83 fully open.
